ABOUT J.PERIOD
With a resume that includes DJ & Remix work for Grammy winners Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Alicia Keys and Kanye West, J.Period has and become one of hip hop’s undisputed Mixtape Kings and most respected DJ/Remixers. J.Period’s remix work has been commissioned by MTV, Def Jam, Sony, Geffen & Interscope; praised by Billboard, Vibe, XXL & The Source; and featured in film trailers for Universal’s 2007 blockbuster American Gangster and Fox’s 2008 Street Kings.
Named MTV “Top 5 DJs” for 2 consecutive years, J.Period has won a host of other awards, including: 2X Mixtape DJ of the Year Awards and 3X Best Mixtape of the Year Awards. On tour, he has performed at Kanye West’s Grammy Party, P. Diddy’s White Party, and internationally as Lauryn Hill’s Official Tour DJ. He has also shared the stage with countless hip hop legends - Nas, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Special Ed, EPMD, Slick Rick & more - and is currently poised to take the show on the road with the J.Period Live Mixtape Tour.
In 2008, J.Period continues to rise in the production world: commissioned to score the latest video game in Tony Hawk’s blockbuster franchise for Activision, as well as trailers for a new Warner Brothers franchise film. J.Period is currently working on remix projects with Alicia Keys and Talib Kweli, as well as expanding global syndication for his “Truelements Radio” show, currently featured on iTunes Radio and sponsored exclusively by Toyota/Scion.
